Emotional Regulation Support for Kids in Fort Wayne
Big reactions to small problems. Meltdowns that come out of nowhere and take an hour to recover from. A kiddo who feels everything deeply — and a mom who is running out of ideas.
If that sounds like your house, you are not alone, and your child is not broken. At Advanced Chiropractic Life Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana, we help kids learn to regulate from the inside out — by caring for the nervous system that drives those big emotions in the first place.

How We See This in Our Practice
When a child’s nervous system is stuck in a stressed, protective state, regulation is not a matter of willpower or discipline. Their body is doing exactly what a stressed nervous system does: reacting fast, feeling big, and recovering slowly.
This includes kiddos with ADHD or autism diagnoses, kids with sensory sensitivities, and kids with no diagnosis at all — just big feelings that do not match the moment. To be clear, we do not treat ADHD or autism. We support the nervous system of the child who has them, and that support often changes daily life in ways families can see and feel.
Some of the most common struggles parents bring to us:
- Meltdowns or emotional outbursts that seem bigger than the situation
- Long recovery time after getting upset
- Trouble with transitions — leaving the park, starting homework, bedtime
- Sensory sensitivities to sounds, textures, or busy environments
- Trouble falling asleep or staying asleep
- Constant motion, difficulty settling, or trouble focusing
- Stomachaches, picky eating, or other physical signs of stress
Most of the moms who find us have already tried the sticker charts, the parenting books, and the advice from well-meaning relatives. What most doctors never mention is that regulation starts in the nervous system — and a dysregulated nervous system cannot be reasoned with, rewarded, or disciplined into calm.
How Our Care Helps
At ACLC, we take a nervous system-first approach to emotional regulation. Instead of working on behavior from the outside, we work on the system that produces the behavior.
Here is what that looks like:
We Start by Measuring, Not Guessing
Our INSiGHT scans show us exactly where your child’s nervous system is holding stress and how well it is adapting — objective information, not opinion.
Gentle, Neurologically Focused Care
We deliver gentle, neurologically focused care designed to help your child’s body shift out of fight-or-flight and build the capacity to settle.
We Track Progress Over Time
We rescan so you can see the change on paper, not just hope it is happening.
As regulation builds, parents tell us the meltdowns get shorter and less frequent, transitions get easier, sleep improves, and their kiddo seems more like themselves. For some families that means a calmer baseline. For many others, the daily battles fade so much that life simply feels different — for the whole house.

“I am so glad we found Dr. Mack. My 3 year old has been seeing Dr. Mack regularly and she has made significant progress in so many areas. Anxiety, fearfulness, fatigue, mood swings/behavior challenges, and more have improved significantly. And she truly loves going to Dr. Mack each week. I never knew how many symptoms chiropractic care can impact for the better. Dr. Mack does wonderful assessments too that help you know exactly what you’re dealing with and how much progress you’re making along the way. 10/10 recommend!”

“We love Dr. Mack and her staff! Our daughter is adopted and starting at the age of 3 began to struggle with behaviors that were a result from her toxic birth. By kindergarten, she was having extreme emotional outbursts and was really struggling to focus at home and school. So when a close friend recommended Dr. Mack, we decided to try it and couldn’t be happier with the progress our daughter has made! Her teacher noticed major changes at school, and things at home have been much less stressful for our family as well. We are so grateful for Dr. Mack and what she has done for our daughter and are so thankful that our path led us to her!”

“I was told last year to try ACLC out for my son’s attention issues, emotional outbursts and social interactions. I really thought it was something that wouldn’t work. I saw some improvements in school when we really focused on things, but something was still missing. So I decided to reach out to Dr. Lindsay and her team. We are 3 months in and I’m so impressed with how my son is more aware of how to help regulate his emotions and power through tough moments! I’m so excited to see what the next 4 months bring! If you’re like me last year and trying to figure out if this is worth your time, use this as your sign to just do it… reach out to this amazing team.”
