Cracking Your Back Is The Same Thing?

I’m Dr. Lindsay Mack, and as a chiropractor, I often get asked, “Hey, Dr. Lindsay, is it okay if I crack my back like this? Is it bad?”

First of all, that cracking isn’t associated with chiropractic adjustments.

It’s just air pockets.

Secondly, if you find yourself in a place where you want to keep popping yourself, it’s because that there’s something that isn’t actually being fixed.

Think about this.

Do you drill your own teeth or do you prescribe your own medications?

When you’re consistently wanting to keep popping yourself or cracking your spine, it typically lasts only 20 minutes, but chiropractic adjustments last hours or weeks and even months if you’re really, really healthy.

It is not a great thing to be cracking your own spine.

It could be even causing more problems.

In fact, our adjustments don’t have any cracking at all, but they create real change.
